Life's motivation, and everything that entails it.
Recently there have been a lot of good things that have been happening to me. I finally am the proud owner of a baller car, and it is summer...enough said there. Yet with summertime, the livings easy, it is hard to be motivated. This is true even during the times in our lives when we are most busy. I see myself being lethargic and lazy. What motivates humans to do the things we do? How do we keep up with our grades, continue to study hard, go to work everyday, wake up at 6 in the morning and do what we must do, or in some and my case(s) go to the gym and work out. I'm talking gut wrenching, puke inducing, blood and tear spewing work ethic that drives us in our lives.
I feel you. I feel all the pains that everyone feels. It's all in the small victories. Motivation is in the child and the grown up in us. Motivation is in our families, our friends. Motivation is in God and God in us. Motivation is in the small voice saying to never give up. Keep hustlin, keep grindin and all the while do it with the knowledge that someone is smiling down on us. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you could see yourself somewhere else in some type of aspect. If the answer is no, then you're a liar and need to face reality. If the answer is yes, as it should be, then get there.
Some ideas/thoughts/tips to help stay on the grind and on top of things and be a better, happier, fitter, you.
- Goals, should start small and be realistic.
- In relationships, before you can find Mrs. Right, you must first work on being Mr. Right. (or vice versa)
- Half the battle is just getting up.
- If you put on your workout clothes and shoes, you'll force yourself to get into the mood. If you're already getting ready to go, you might as well go. Your not going to sit back down and go on your computer or watch TV if your fully dressed to work out.
- Sometimes faking to get psyched about something at first will eventually actually get you psyched about it. You have to sort of lie to yourself at first, and then it will change your attitude. Fake it, to make it.
- Surround yourself with people who seem to be doing things. Lazy people will only make you more lazy. Have you ever noticed that the most fit people have fit friends. Or the most studious or successful people have studious and successful friends. Like wise, you've probably noticed that a lot of obese people hang out together.
- Even if you feel like your efforts are useless, do it anyway. Some day you will look back and be glad you kept with it and you will appreciate your consistency.
- As Bruce Lee says, "Find and keep what is useful, throw out what is not."
